Marula Oil

Overview

Marula seed oil is yellowish to pink in colour with a fruity, nutty odour. It is extracted from the kernel of the fruits of the Marula trees (also known as Sclerocarya Birrea) and displays a fruity, floral scent with a nutty undertone.

Grades

We offer both organic and conventional grades.

Process

Each Marula fruit contains two or three kernels. These kernels are carefully removed from inside the seed and cold pressed to extract the oil.

Harvest

The marula fruit is usually harvested between January to April.

Uses

Skin, hair and nails

Contains amino acids that have hydrating and anti-aging properties
Contains fatty acids, which have emollient and moisturizing benefits
Contains antioxidants including vitamin E and C. These are important in fighting free radical damage.
May also prevent damage to the skin that is caused by the ultraviolet rays from the sun and pollution.
